A sculptural coffee table by Hjellegjerde — one of Norway's most established furniture manufacturers, with roots going back to 1941 in Sykkylven, inspired by Norwegian nature and tradition.
The Wave is immediately striking. A single continuous S-curve of laminated beech, flowing from floor to tabletop in one uninterrupted movement. No legs. No joints. Just form — confident, organic, and entirely at ease with itself.
The clear glass top sits lightly above the base, allowing the full sculptural presence of the beech to be seen from every angle. The warm honey tone of the wood and the precision of the curve make this a piece that works as well as a design object as it does as a functional table.
Scandinavian design at its most expressive — not a straight line in sight.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. Minor surface scratches on the glass top — consistent with age and use, not visible in photographs. The beech base is in excellent condition.
